Managers and supervisors are
critical to the success of the EAP. Although LifeWorks can
provide on-site training and educational materials, we never have the
level of interaction with employees that managers have. Managers have access to management consultation services to assist
with employee relations concerns.
Also remember, managers face the same
life challenges that employees do.
When the workforce is
actively using the EAP, it takes the pressure of employees' personal
issues off of you.
Consider these steps to promote the EAP:
- Review the availability of the EAP
on a monthly basis at staff meetings
- Provide an EAP brochure/information
to employees that are facing unique challenges at work or at home
- Promptly distribute or post
LifeWorks promotional information when it arrives.
- Invite your LifeWorks representative
to a staff meeting to provide information.
- Ask LifeWorks to supply text for an
email that you could send your employees as an update.
- Request training or a brown bag
wellness presentation to raise awareness of health-oriented issues
and the EAP.
